What is Direct and Indirect evidence? |

Direct evidence: In order to provide direct evidence of your ability to perform a particular task or function you need to demonstrate those skills in the workplace in front of a credible witness, usually the workplace supervisor. You’ll need to do this more than once though: to be ‘competent’ at a task means that you can perform it consistently.
Once your workplace supervisor is satisfied that you can meet the performance criteria, ask them to sign and date each of the relevant on the job assessment forms. (Although copies of these forms can be found in your learning guides, or you may be issued with customised versions.) Once your form is signed submit it to your unit facilitator. Indirect evidence: The indirect evidence (which is often referred to as ‘off the job assessment’) can take many forms depending on the unit you are studying. If you’ve carefully worked through the learning guide and the various activities along the way, it shouldn’t be too difficult.
Attach the relevant evidence of competence recording sheet (you’ll find it in your learning guides ) to your assignment and submit it to your facilitator.
